A Survey , Sublimation Drawings 1995
Artist Statement from Invisible Nature : An exhibition featuring work From Stephen Gleadow And DaoZi, Stage One Gallery 798 Beijing China 2008.The drawings in this show are explorations referencing fractal geometry, and the transformative states of chemical compounds, metals, and mineralogy. They are symbolic of the hidden nature of our surrounding world. The references to skin and ancient codex manuscripts can be metaphorically associated to the process of human knowledge and experience, which are in constant question and flux through discovery.
